Pretty Little Kitty was hurt during Hurricane Melissa. She made it through the strong winds and heavy rain but her tail injury has gotten worse and now needs urgent vet care. Without treatment, the infection can quickly become life-threatening. Her tail is now badly damaged, swollen and showing signs of maggots which means the wound is rapidly getting worse. She’s a gentle, brave baby who has been fighting through so much and she urgently needs sponsorship to get the lifesaving care she deserves.
Basic Sponsorship needs:
-
US$20 – One month of dry cat food
-
US$30 – One month of wet cat food
-
US$25 – Flea & tick prevention and dewormer
-
US$65 – Spay or neuter surgery
-
US$15/day – Boarding at vet or shelter

On 15 December, the shelter informed us that, due to limited capacity in December, our rescue cats had to be removed from the facility effective immediately. The cats affected were Strawberry, Muffin, Melissa and Pretty Little Kitty. We urgently arranged safe and secure placements to prevent them from being returned to the streets. Thanks to the prompt support of our sponsors and adopters, placements and homes were successfully secured in such short notice. Pretty Little Kitty was discharged by the vet and returned to her colony caretaker, who took her home and will continue to look after her as initially agreed. Kitty is a young feral cat and will require time and patient socialization before she is ready for adoption.
Pretty Little Kitty had a successful tail amputation surgery. Estimated recovery period is 40 to 50 days, with regular bandage checks as required.
