A Community Project to help street cats in Jamaica
Founded in March 2025, OnlyPaws Cat Rescue JA is a volunteer-led nonprofit project with a mission to help Jamaica’s street cats. Every day, cats on our streets suffer from hunger, abuse, sickness and neglect, but we believe our community can make a difference.
Our mission is to reduce the suffering of Jamaica's street cats through advocacy and action. We address the cat overpopulation crisis through Trap, Neuter, Return or Rehome (TNR). We use our platforms to raise awareness about the importance of spay/neuter and to highlight the mistreatment and challenges faced by street cats in Jamaica. We also care for rescued street cats by providing daily food and emergency vet care.
We rely on donations, sponsors and volunteers to continue this life-saving work. Together, we can protect our street cats, break the cycle of suffering and create a more compassionate Jamaica for cats.
We Feed Jamaican Street Cats Daily
We provide daily nutritious wet and dry cat food to rescued cat colonies through automatic feeders, feeding missions and caretaker partnerships. A full belly means less roaming, less danger. It's how they learn to trust us, it's how rescue begins.
We Spay/Neuter Cats Weekly (TNR)
Jamaica’s streets are overflowing with stray cats due to low spay/neuter awareness and frequent abandonment. We do TNR for street cats and also help Jamaican cat owners to spay/neuter their pet cats. Through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) and public education, we break the cycle of overpopulation and suffering. But TNVR isn’t enough if cats are returned to unsafe streets to struggle with hunger. The welfare of cats has always been, and will continue to be, our guiding principle. This is why we pair TNVR with feeding, fostering or adoption, where the "R" in TNVR now becomes "Rehome". Together, we can stop the suffering before it begins.
We Rehome Street Cats
Rescue ends with love, safety and a forever home. We rehome spayed or neutered cats to committed families, following a careful adoption process to protect them from further harm. Adoption fees help cover vet care and ensure adopters are invested. With your support, we can keep caring for rescued cats until they find their forever homes.
We Make Vet Care Possible
We strive to make vet care possible for Jamaica’s street cats, with vaccinations, deworming, medical care for injuries and illness, along with boarding at veterinary clinics to ensure proper healing. Every donation helps us ease their pain and save lives.
We Give Them Love
