Saltfish used to be part of a bonded pair with her brother, Ackee, named after Jamaica’s national dish: Ackee and Saltfish. They were always together, and Ackee made her feel brave. But Ackee has crossed the rainbow bridge, and now it’s just Saltfish. She still tends to run when anyone comes too close, but she has come a long way. Saltfish has learned that gentle pets can be comforting. She needs a patient pawrent who will see the soft heart behind her shyness and give her the safe home she has been waiting for.
