Section C - Adoption Fee Agreements

Adoption Fee Agreement Required

I agree to pay the adoption fee of US$30 (or JMD$5,000) per cat to OnlyPaws Cat Rescue. This fee helps provide medical care, food, and support for my new cat and other rescue cats in need.

Transportation Fee Agreement (International Adoptions Only)

I agree to pay the agreed transportation fee to OnlyPaws Cat Rescue to ensure the safe transport of my new cat outside of Jamaica.

Mandatory Spay/Neuter Policy (For Unfixed Cats Only)

I understand that if the cat/kitten I am adopting has not yet been spayed or neutered. I agree that the procedure must be completed by the time the cat/kitten reaches 6 months of age (or within the timeframe given by the rescue if the cat is already over 6 months). I will provide proof of the procedure (such as a vet certificate or receipt) to the rescue.

I agree to pay a refundable spay/neuter deposit of US$25 (or JMD $4000) per cat which will be included in my adoption fee and will be returned once proof is provided.

I understand that spaying or neutering prevents overpopulation, reduces health and behavioral risks, and supports my cat’s long-term well-being. Unspayed cats may try to escape during heat, while unneutered males may spray or show aggression. I am committed to being part of the solution for my cat’s health and welfare.

Section E - Policies

Pick-Up & Transport Policy Required

I agree to meet and pick up the cat(s) in Kingston unless an alternative arrangement is agreed upon. I understand that the exact pick-up location will be provided once my application is approved.

I agree to bring a secure pet carrier when collecting my new cat to ensure safe transportation.

Pre-Adoption Care Policy Required

If my application is approved, I agree to submit a photo or video of the cat’s food, litter box, and the space where the cat will be staying before the adoption date. I understand this helps confirm that I am prepared to feed and care for my cat after adoption.

Post-Adoption Care Policy Required

I agree to provide at least one photo or video update of my rescue cat(s) to OnlyPaws Cat Rescue within the first month of adoption. Ongoing updates are always encouraged.

Humane Treatment Policy Required

I agree to never mistreat, abuse, or abandon my rescue cat. I will provide care, love, and respect. I understand that OnlyPaws Cat Rescue may take legal action if these terms are not upheld.

I am prepared to give my rescue cat(s) time and space to adjust to my home, understanding that this may take days or weeks.

I understand that a pet cat is not a toy or an accessory, but a living being that requires proper care, love, lifelong commitment and responsible ownership.

Emergency Notification Policy Required

I agree to notify OnlyPaws Cat Rescue JA immediately if my rescue cat escapes, becomes seriously ill, is injured, or passes away, so the rescue can offer support and take appropriate steps if needed.

I agree to safely return the cat to OnlyPaws Cat Rescue JA for rehoming if there's an emergency where I can no longer care for them.

Section F - Acknowledgements

Adoption Form Acknowledgement Required

I agree that the information provided in this form is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any false or misleading information may result in the rejection/investigation of my adoption application.

I agree to sign this adoption contract on the day of pick-up, confirming my commitment to the care and responsibilities of adopting a rescue cat.
